Meet the 2021 New Years Team

His Hands His Feet is thrilled to be sending our third annual team to serve in El Salvador over New Year’s. We have an awesome group of ten volunteers from six states, including four college students, two of whom are from Liberty University in VA, and two others from Westmont College in CA and the University of HI, two high school students from OR and one elementary school student. Our team has been meeting over Zoom for the past few months. God has already been moving powerfully in our midst and we have many stories to share!

His Hands His Feet is honored to partner with Sus Hijos, an incredible organization that has been serving in El Salvador for almost 15 years. Kurt Ackerman, the founder of Sus Hijos, recently asked if our team would be able to build a house for an impoverished family during the trip. We were more than willing to build a house, but told Kurt that he would need to raise the founds since we have such a small team with a small budget. The total cost is $4300 total for building materials, furniture and a Walmart shopping spree to fill the home with supplies for the family. Our team members began sharing with family and friends about the opportunity to build a house. We also began praying for God’s provision, since we were still trying to cover our team costs. ALL OF THE FUNDS came in for the team budget AS WELL AS THE HOUSE, to our shock, in less than a week! It’s been unbelievable to watch Him provide for our team and for the needs of the Salvadorian people. And we haven’t even left yet!

Please pray for the team as we prepare to fly to El Salvador on December 27th. El Salvador recently announced that visitors do not have to provide negative Covid tests or vaccine cards for entry. However, we will need to provide negative Covid tests to return to the United States on January 4th. Please pray for safety as we travel, for all of the duffels filled with gifts to arrive, for His anointing and wisdom as we serve and for His protection from sickness. Our team is honored to be delivering Christmas gifts and the hope of the Gospel to children living in orphanage and low income communities. We’re helping Sus Hijos to throw a huge Christmas party in a low income community, where most families are unable to provide Christmas gifts to their children. We also get to provide meals and gifts to people living on the streets of San Salvador, build a home for a needy family and serve in a local church. Thank you for your prayers and support!
