Summer Trips are Back!!!
“Learn to do right. Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.” - Isaiah 1:17
It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost three years since His Hands His Feet sent a summer team to El Salvador. All 2020 and 2021 summer trips were tragically canceled due to Covid. His Hands His Feet was honored to throw a “virtual missions trip” in partnership with Sus Hijos in the summer of 2020 but we definitely missed having “boots on the ground.” We are thrilled to announce that we are currently building two summer teams with thirty-six volunteers from TX, CA and VA.
The first team will serve from July 2-9. This team consists mostly of a group of parents and teens from a small church in VA. These team members are raising funds to build a house for a family in need. They will also be partnering with Sus Hijos in throwing their annual 4th of July community outreach celebration and throwing a wedding celebration for a young family that was unable to afford an official wedding.
Week two is serving from July 9-16. This is a our quinceanera team, which consists almost entirely of mothers and daughters. We have a number of young kids serving with us this week, including three 8-year-olds, one 9-year-old and one 11-year-old. It will be so beautiful to watch these kids serving other kids!
We have offered Zoom calls for all of our team meetings since many members are joining us from CA and VA. The team photo shows about half of our team members at a recent meeting at our home in McKinney, TX.
We are extremely grateful for your support as we build these awesome teams. We are in need of financial support, prayer support and donations such as gently used dresses, shoes, jewelry and make up. The cost to fully build, furnish and decorate the home with brand new kitchen/home accessories is $4K. The cost of the quinceanera is $9K.
