His Little Servants
Blog post written by Rhonda Kendrick, Gardendale, Alabama
Today our team had the immense privilege of visiting two homes for special needs residents. During our visits we had opportunities to dance, sing, play with and feed the lovely Salvadorian children and adults. I observed so many compassion filled servants throughout the day! One thing that has impacted me is how our young kids on the team have shown great examples of a servant’s heart. Today I saw middle school students pushing kids in wheelchairs through the orphanages, drenched in sweat with smiles from to ear. I watched as middle school boys let the residents paint their nails. I saw teenage boys dancing like little kids, filled with laughter as they loved on people with challenging disabilities. The love of Christ compels us to do what we NEVER think we can do and to go to heights we NEVER think we can reach. Let us always remember how God will carry us through. It is not us doing the work, but God working through us!
“Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.” - Psalm 107:8-9
