This week I embarked on my first mission trip alongside Crean Lutheran High School. I had some good friends on the team and there are others that I was not acquainted with.  I am so thankful for the new friends that I have made in El Salvador.   As the days progressed I awaited an aha moment to come along. This moment was conjured at one particular orphanage while I was helping a girl to find the perfect dress and pair of shoes.

Her face appeared so sad and this honestly broke my heart. I felt for her immensely and felt a bond towards her.  So many of these girls have experienced tremendous trauma.  Meeting her made me realize that I am beyond blessed to possess the ability to pick up the phone and call my mom any time I desire. This is an action that I take for granted at times.  I plan to pray for her everyday when I return home tomorrow.  I'm so glad that we were able to celebrate her life through the quinceanera.  It has been a joy to be HIS HANDS and HIS FEET this week.  I can honestly say that this trip has been life changing.  It has allowed for an alteration in my perspective and priorities in life. Thank you to everyone who put on this trip and made everything possible
